Color Block 101

There is absolutely nothing that can turn a basic piece into a “look” better than a color block combo. Color-Blocking in fashion is simply the use of two contrasting colors in the same outfit. Stacking two opposite (preferably bright) colors on top of each other is the easiest way to create uniqueness and flare while also adding countless amount of styling options for one piece.

My biggest tip for a successful color block is to not overthink it. I would stick to basic items without a lot of fluff and flare to begin with. Items such as blazers, t shirts, structured tops, and fitted skirts are easy items to stack. The opportunities are endless. My favorite combinations are Orange/Blue, Red/Pink, Purple/Turquoise, And Green/Yellow. What is your go to color block combo? Are you gonna try to trend?
